Better-Than-Trader-Joe's Edamame Hummus
I began dealing with this knock-off Trader Joe’s edamame hummus dish 2 weeks earlier. And then on Sunday, my spouse and I selected an impulse to come by Trader Joe’s en route house from the farmers market.

Guess what? Trader Joe’s does not even sell edamame hummus any longer. Or a minimum of ours does not. Horror! I like their edamame hummus. It was rather perhaps my most preferred product offered by Trader Joe’s, after they cruelly stopped offering my precious Middle EastFeast Oh yes, there was much gnashing of teeth and mumbled cursing in the cooled area of the Raleigh Trader Joe’s last weekend. Trader Joe’s! Stop presenting items simply to take them far from us! You’re dabbling individuals’s lives!

But! Like I stated, I had actually been dealing with making my own edamame hummus dish anyhow. And attempt I state, I believe it might simply be much better than Trader Joe’s edamame hummus? Yes, I attempt state it! While I constantly enjoyed the taste of the Trader Joe’s variation, I discovered it to be a little bit too oily. My variation minimizes the oil and includes an increase of taste with fresh herbs.

I can never ever get hummus right when I make it with chickpeas, however edamame works a lot better. And it does not have that bean-y taste that you often get with chickpeas. This is excellent!

My preferred method to utilize edamame hummus is as a sandwich spread. I do not like mayo or mustard, so edamame hummus makes a terrific replacement. We had it on flatbread and topped it with roasted summertime veggies for a simple weeknight meal. And obviously, any sort of hummus is terrific as a dip for fresh veggies, pita bread, or crackers.

So take that, Trader Joe’s! I do not require your edamame hummus any longer! (But if you wish to begin bring it once again, that would be cool.)

Better-Than-Trader-Joe's Edamame Hummus Recipe

An edamame hummus made with lemon juice and fresh herbs. It’s even much better than the kind Trader Joe’s makes!

  • PrepTime: 10 minutes
  • TotalTime: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 4-6 portions

  • 1 cup prepared edamame
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 garlic clove, peeled
  • 2 tablespoon fresh herbs, coarsely sliced ( optional– I utilized rosemary, thyme, and basil)
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil (include more if you like your hummus creamier)
  • salt, to taste (I utilized 1/4 tsp)

  1. Combine edamame, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, and herbs in food mill.
  2. Process up until smooth.
  3. Drizzle olive oil through feed tube, continuing to process up until oil is totally included.
  4. Season with salt to taste and serve.

My spouse and I had a dispute over this hummus; I liked utilizing 3 tablespoons of lemon juice, while he believed it was too lemony like that. So if you desire your edamame hummus additional lemony, include another tablespoon of lemon juice.
